1040 Client SafeSend Organizer Tips
NEW in 2026: We are excited to announce an enhanced version of the secure system you already use to exchange tax documents with us—the SafeSend One Client Portal!
This portal gives you one central, secure location to store tax documents and returns, track action items, and manage your account—all with a single 6-digit PIN you create. Any SafeSend accounts tied to your email address will automatically appear in your Client Portal for easy access.
When you receive your digital Tax Organizer from us in mid-January, the message will include a link labeled Access Client Portal. Simply click that link to activate your SafeSend One Client Portal.
The portal is accessible on all desktop and mobile devices. For the smoothest operating experience, we recommend using Google Chrome.
You can complete your Tax Organizer process in three easy steps:
1) Tax Questionnaire

- NEW: You will have the option to upload your tax documents here.
2) NEW: Document Request List (DRL): You have the option to upload your tax documents individually or together as one pdf.

- Your DRL will help guide you as to which documents we need.
- If a document doesn’t automatically check off the corresponding item on your DRL, you have the ability to drag & drop the document onto that item on your DRL.
- If an item on the DRL is no longer applicable, hover over it and click “N/A.”
3) Organizer

Clicking the FINISH button tells us you are ready for us to start on your tax return.
A few additional tips to make your experience seamless:

- Requested document formats are PDF, XLS & DOCX. Be sure each document is named according to its description. Photos will not be accepted.
- Consider using the free Adobe Scan app to convert a photo to a document.
- Do not send password-protected documents.
- If you need to step away at any point before you’re finished, simply click Save & Close at the bottom of the screen.
