According to the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) has mailed Verification of Income – Missing Ohio IT1040 letters to some taxpayers in error. This letter advises taxpayers that ODT is unable to process their school district (SD100) refund because an Ohio IT1040 individual income tax return has not been received. ODT is currently reviewing the taxpayers impacted by this error and no further action is needed at this time.

If additional information is needed from a taxpayer, ODT will mail a subsequent notice. Tax professionals and taxpayers may visit tax.ohio.gov/myportal to confirm the IT1040 return has been received.  For additional assistance, please contact ODT at 1-800-282-1780.
